Just the Way I See It: IMSA at Road America

Story and photo by Vickie Miller What a weekend at Road America! Between the series news, Indy Car coming back to the track, exciting racing action…and oh, yea, it was my birthday weekend too. About the only thing that didn’t happen was an animal sighting on the track. At least I did not hear of a squirrel or deer running across the track this year, which has happened in past races. Where do I begin? Let’s start with why we all go to Road America…the racing! Road America weekend is always packed with constant track activities with four racing...

Just the Way I See It: IMSA at Watkins Glen

Story and Photo by Vickie Miller Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head If you are a race fan like me, about Wednesday of each week, I look closely at the upcoming weekend schedule to plan any home activities around race times. This past weekend was a busy one for all race fans with IndyCar, Formula E, Pirelli World Challenge at Road America, and the race event I attend at Watkins Glen International (WGI). Just the Way I See It: 24 Hours of Le Mans

Story and photo by Vickie Miller Yes, I consider myself very fortunate to attend the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans which is run at the Circuit de la Sarthe. With much of the track open as it consists of active city streets, we were able to zoom down Mulsanne Straight with a respectable qualifying speed. The...

Story and photo by Vickie Miller Last weekend I attended my sixth trip to the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix event. This visit was the fifth consecutive year with TUDOR and one prior visit when the Indycars raced with the American Le Mans Series many years ago. The weekend held racing from Indycar, IMSA Tudor Championship, Pirelli World Challenge (PWC), and Stadium Super Trucks (SST). Due to several series racing over the weekend, only the Grand Touring (GT) and the GTA (driver classification part of GT class for professional drivers who do not make their primarily living from racing)...

Just the Way I See It: FIA WEC at Spa

Story and photo by Vickie Miller A lap around Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps involves 20 turns, is 4.352 miles (7.004 km) in length and despite its name; the circuit is not in Spa but lies in the vicinity of the town of Francorchamps completely within the boundaries of the municipality of Stavelot. (From Wikipedia) According to Vikipedia, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps “Spa” can be described as “a race circuit having sharp turns, changing elevations nestled between houses, winding through hillsides, offering fans creative ways to watch the action.” Heading into the weekend, I tried to figure out what clothes to pack....
